Michael Colberg appointed new Chief Operating Officer of Premium AEROTEC

As the new Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Premium AEROTEC, Michael Colberg (48) will in future be responsible for the aviation suppliers entire production. His new role also makes him a member of the Premium AEROTEC Board of Management. Colberg is currently Production Director at Daimler AG in Düsseldorf and will assume his new position as of 1 October 2012.

Michael Colberg will take overall charge of Premium AEROTEC’s manufacturing organisation at the German sites in Augsburg, Nordenham, Bremen and Varel and in Braşov, Romania. His many years of manufacturing experience will stand him in good stead with the task: Colberg earned an engineering degree, specialising in plastics processing, from RWTH Aachen University and was employed in various production and logistics positions at Ford in Cologne from 1992 to 2003. On joining Daimler AG, he initially took charge of vehicle body construction for the C-Class at the Bremen site. In 2007, he was appointed Production Director and Site Manager of the Mercedes-Benz plant in Düsseldorf.

His main task at Premium AEROTEC will be to promote the strategic orientation of our production activities, securing and further growing our global competitiveness through the latest manufacturing methods, high quality standards and cost-efficiency.”

Premium AEROTEC generated revenues of 1.3 billion euros in 2011. Its core business is the development and manufacturing of metal and carbon composite aerostructures and the associated equipment and production systems. The company has production plants in Augsburg, Bremen, Nordenham and Varel in Germany, and in Braşov (Romania).
