Premium AEROTEC wins once again German Aviation Innovation Award for state-of-the-art assembly area

At the ILA airshow in Berlin, Premium AEROTEC has won the German Aviation Innovation Award for the second time in a row. In the “Industry 4.0” category Premium AEROTEC beat strong competition with its state-of-the-art assembly area at its Varel site. In 2017, the company had been awarded for 3D-printed components for the A350 XWB long-range aircraft.

Premium AEROTEC adopts Airbus aviation data platform Skywise

The aerostructures supplier Premium AEROTEC is a major partner in all Airbus programmes and Airbus’ first Tier-1 supplier to integrate data with its customer via a secure cloud environment. By using the collaborative platform Skywise, the company makes a big step towards its smart factory vision. Skywise allows full transparency and big data analytics on a huge amount of data in order to recognize trends that require early actions to ensure a stable manufacturing process.

Premium AEROTEC shows the potential that CFRP with a thermoplastic matrix holds for the future and presents the world’s first demonstrator for an A320 pressure bulkhead at ILA

The aerostructures supplier Premium AEROTEC has developed and manufactured a major component in the aircraft’s primary structure in CFRP with a thermoplastic matrix. The full-scale and close-to-production demonstrator for the pressure bulkhead of the A320 Family was developed and produced by the company in around four months. At the ILA airshow in Berlin the demonstrator can be seen at Premium AEROTEC’s trade fair stand (Hall 2, Stand 201).

Premium AEROTEC acquires 3D printing specialist APWORKS and reinforces its market position in additive manufacturing

The aerostructures supplier Premium AEROTEC reinforces its leading position in the additive manufacturing sector by taking over APWORKS, the 3D print specialist . Both partners complement the other’s capabilities and aim to profit from the fast-paced growth in the 3D printing market together. Premium AEROTEC and Airbus, the previous owner of APWORKS, have agreed to keep the purchasing price confidential.

Premium AEROTEC launches a new door frame assembly line at its Varel site

All passengers on Airbus planes go through Premium AEROTEC aircraft door frames to access the cabin. The aviation supplier is investing in a state-of-the-art assembly area for the Varel site to ensure more efficient manufacturing of these complex components. This is comprised of two parallel and automated assembly lines with pioneering digital elements. Premium AEROTEC will thus boost its flexibility in terms of product diversity and hone its competitive edge.
