Structural Analysis

The very first question in the development process is, what is the best way to build a structure? The structural engineers investigate and calculate diverse variants to find the lightest and safest solution, using a broad array of numerical analysis and optimisation methods. Proof must subsequently be submitted to the certification authority that all strength requirements have been met and that the calculations are correct. The specialists for fatigue and fracture mechanics simulate fractures that can occur over the life of an aircraft and determine where and how often the aircraft must be inspected in later operation.
