Premium AEROTEC is specialised in manufacturing light materials like titan, aluminium and carbon fibre composites (CFC). It is the company's core business to manufacture these materials with high precision and high efficiency for aerostructures in fuselage sections as well as wings and other parts of an aircraft.
Premium AEROTEC has developed and patented the technology of curing carbon fibre reinforced plastics (CFRP) with VAP® (Vacuum Assisted Process).
This innovative process is 20% faster than traditional methods and also uses less energy. At the same time the technology makes it possible to avoid expensive autoclaves: for curing the resin a temperature-controlled oven ist sufficient.
In addition to its cost advantages, this patented technology recommends itself, as compared with other processes, because of shortened production times.
Premium AEROTEC has introduced orbital riveting for the production of fuselage sections and pressure bulkheads. The riveting robot has the ability to work independently on the entire outer fuselage. This technology garantuees significantly faster processing while maintaining quality.
Laser Beam Welding
In the construction of fuselage skin panels Premium AEROTEC deploys new production technologies: laser beam welding replaces traditional riveting methods in certain areas. As regards larger aircraft, such as the widebody Airbus A380, the length of welded seams is 1,400 meter in total for one aircraft. The main areas of the fuselage segments of this and other airbus models are, accordingly, welded by laser beam. Laser technology is ten times as fast as the comparable riveting process and offers significant advantages in weight.
Electron Beam Welding
Premium AEROTEC possesses a high degree of experience in Electron Beam Welding since the Tornado program. This production technology enables the connection of thick and high-stress components. One of the biggest such devices in Europe is being used in Augsburg. Currently once again for welding wing boxes for theTornado and the air break for the Eurofighter.
